Coach Hairston is a college graduate with a degree in Public Relations from Bowie State University. He is also a certified teacher in Special Education and Crisis Intervention. He has coached and won a total of nine championships—seven state titles at public schools and two private school championships. With years of experience coaching in both public and private schools, he has helped students and families reach their educational, athletic, and personal goals. Coach Rod has mentored many students and families, helping them achieve dreams they once thought impossible. He loves supporting student-athletes to be their best on and off the court. He has also worked with young people impacted by poverty and an advocate of mental health. Coach Rod is dedicated to making a positive difference in his community.
