Metropolitan Prep Inc is a non-profit organization that mentors players and parents while providing professional development opportunities for coaches and trainers. We help our members map out their desired goals and help them maximize their opportunity and potential. Student-athlete's are given in sight from mentors that help them evaluate the situation and make the best decisions for them and their family which will allow them to reach their desired goals and outcomes. We utilize the experience and vast network and connections of our coalition of coaches, trainers, parents and educators, that have years of combined experience in their chosen profession to maximize positive outcomes for the families of Metropolitan Prep. The mission of Metropolitan Prep is to help students and families of color that have been under served in Prince George's County Maryland and the D.M.V., develop, cultivate and utilize the necessary life skills, training, work ethic, education, networks and financial literacy necessary to be successful in a highly competitive and abrasive world. We are committed to sharing information and connecting student-athletes and there parents/families with the network of trainers, coaches and educators who can mentor and assist these families with reaching there athletic, educational and life goals. Additionally we share ideas among our colleagues and provide professional development opportunities and mentor those new to the profession of coaching and training which enhances the student-athletes experience as well as the coaching experience.

Our Mentors

Making A Difference

Our mentors support, educate and empower our student-athletes and their families to make the best decisions that will help them realize their goals and have the best experience possible while participating in the sport. We provide high quality resources to our community. We become a part of the village that supports the student-athlete and their families.

Sports-Trainers/Mentor

Our Sport-Trainer/Mentor plays a crucial role in helping student-athletes discover and realize their full athletic potential. We achieve this by creating personalized programs that are specifically designed to meet the unique of each individual student-athlete. Our dedicated trainers offer high-quality instruction, share experience-based advice, and provide positive, uplifting encouragement to foster a supportive environment.

In addition to instruction, our trainers actively cultivate and promote the unique talents of each student. By providing access to the right trainers, coaches, teachers, and support networks, we empower both the student-athlete and their families with the knowledge and skills necessary to build confidence in their abilities. This empowerment enables them to pursue their life goals while also becoming productive and engaged members of their communities.

Parent Mentor/Advocate

Our Parent Mentor/Advocate assists parents of student-athletes by providing guidance through sharing personal experiences, strategies and firsthand information gained while their own children participated in the sporting discipline. The Parent Support Advocate with the invitation of the family will assess the family's circumstances and then make a recommendation to the family.Metropolitan Prep supports the student-athlete and their family by providing a holistic approach to the pursuant of a student-athletes goals. We surround them and their family with a caring network of experienced professionals that provide a plethora of information, expertise and guidance that will help them realize the best experience possible while participating in the sport. We help student-athletes and their families have the best experience possible while participating in the sport. We help build character in our youth and help them reach life goals.

Educational Mentors/Advocates

Our Educational Mentors and Advocates play a vital role in supporting students their families by taking a proactive approach to mental health and academic. They work closely with students to understand their unique needs and challenges, providing tailored mental health support that fosters resilience and well-being. In addition, our mentors assist in developing comprehensive academic plans that focus on both short-term achievements and long-term educational goals, ensuring that students are well-prepared for their future endeavors.

Moreover, they encourage families to create a detailed roadmap that outlines attainable educational, athletic, and career objectives. This collaborative effort not only empowers students to reach their full potential but also strengthens the support system around them, paving the way for a brighter and more successful future. Together, we strive to cultivate an environment where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and personally.

Master Coach Mentors

Our Master Coaching Mentors provide the support and assistance to help young, less experienced coaches with implementing best practices for student-athletes. We also provide aspiring coaches with guidance and direction for executing both short and long-term career goals and plans. We provide professional development and career growth opportunities and support the promotion of our coaches with letters of recommendations for coaching advancements and offering our network of college and professional contacts at all levels. We provide a high quality support and assistance for grass-root youth coaches and the student-athletes they coach.

5 years head coaching or 7 years total coaching experience
Engaging and personable
Excellent communication skills
College Coach Network
Effective relationship building skills
Minimum Bachelor's Degree

Our program is based on building relationships and giving solid intuitive information. Metropolitan Prep is supporting our community by assisting student-athletes and their families reach their athletic goals and more importantly their life goals.
